Armenia: Iveta Mukuchyan to Stockholm

The Armenian singer Iveta Mukuchyan will represent Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. She is a former participant at "Hay Superstar" and "The Voice of Germany"

A short teaser video was published two weeks ago, which revealed a girl, along with a speak: "we'll be ready to reveal her name..."

And now she is revealed: Iveta Mukuchyan.

The public broadcaster of Armenia, ARMTV, has revealed the artist for Eurovision 2016. She was revealed during the TV show ''Profession of a journalist'' on 13 October 2015.

Iveta says: » I'm very happy, thankful and honored to be chosen by the Public TV Company of Armenia to represent Armenia ... I love Eurovision and it's amazing to get a chance to represent my country on the big stage. Your support is very important to me, so I hope you will be next to me on this responsible and important journey.«

Like last year, Armenia has opted for an internal selection for Eurovision. Last year they picked the group "Genealogy", who performed " Face The Shadow" in Semi-final 1 (7th) and in the Grand Final (16th).

Iveta Mukuchyan

Iveta (29), is from Yerevan, Armenia. She moved to Germany in 1992 with her family and went to school in Hamburg. In 2009 she returned back to Armenia.

She has had vocal-training at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.

2010: Fifth place in "Hay Superstar" (song contest)
2012: The Voice of Germany

She released the single "Freak" on 24 December 2012.

Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest

Armenia has been in Eurovision since 2006, participating 9 times (all the years except 2012). Best results are two fourth positions (2008 and 2014). They have qualified for the Semi-final every year except 2011.
