UPDATE 8 March 2017:

The official music video of Blanche's song "City Lights" has been released. The music video can be seen on top of this page, and in the lyrics section.

Blanche was one of the first artists for Eurovision 2017 to be revealed. Back in November the Walloon broadcaster announced that Blanche was picked for the task of representing Belgium at Eurovision Song Contest 2017.

Her song was scheduled to be released tomorrow at 11:30 CET, but several videos with the audio track of "City Lights" included are now online. The song is also released on Spotify and Apple Music.

Shortly after the song was out, Belgium exploded in the odds table: From 22nd to 3rd place!

Blanche

The 17-year-old Ellie Delvaux ("Blanche") from Brussels was internally selected by the Walloon broadcaster to participate on behalf of Belgium next year at Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Ukrainian Kiev. She will participate as her stage name Blanche.

Blanche competed this year in the Walloon version of the talent show "The Voice". Her coach was the French poprock duo "Cats on Trees". The 17-year-old singer was eliminated second to last episode after she had enough votes from the audience and was eliminated by her coach.

It is the third consecutive time that the RTBF is looking for a candidate in "The Voice". Roberto Bellarosa ended 12th in 2013 with "Love Kills" and Loïc Nottet finished 4th in 2015 with "Rhythm Inside".

Belgium 2015: Loïc Nottet - "Rhythm Inside"
Belgium has been participating 58 times in Eurovision since the beginning in 1956. They won the contest in 1986 (Sandra Kim - "J'aime La Vie"), but finished last 8 times (two of them with Null Points). Since the introductions of the Semi-finals in 2004 Belgium qualified for the Grand Final 5 out of 13 times (In 2010 they came first in Semi-final 1).
