The method for selecting the Greek entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2017 has not been announced yet. Last year the Greek broadcaster ERT went for an internal selection and created the band "Argo" and the song "Utopian Land" – and for the first time, Greece failed to qualify for the Grand Final.
Paparizou in Eurovision
Helena Paparizou has been on the Eurovision stage twice: She represented Greece at Eurovision 2001 with Antique: "Die For You" (3rd place), and she won Eurovision 2005 with the song "My Number One". Helena is born in Sweden, and in 2014 she competed in Sweden's Melodifestivalen with the song "Survivor" (4th in Melodifestivalen).
Greece started its Eurovision adventure back in 1974, and has been participating in the contest 37 times until now. They won Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song "My Number One" performed by Helena Paparizou. Since the victory they have been very successful in Eurovision. Greece has qualified for the Grand Final 12 out of 13 times (only missed the Grand Final last year). Well done Greece! Since 2004 they have ended in top-10 nine out of 13 times. They never finished last in the contest.
