Hungary: A Dal 2016 participants announced

The format of A Dal 2016 will be the same as previous years: A total of 30 songs will compete to represent Hungary in Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. See all the contestants and the dates for A Dal 2016 here

Update 29 December 2015:
Mistral and the song "Reggeli Reggae" has been disqualified. The song has been made public before 1 September 2015, and therefore cannot take part in Eurovision Song Contest 2016. It will be replaced by Viki Singh with the song "Katonák"

The national Hungarian broadcaster MTVA has revealed the 30 entries that will compete in A Dal 2016 and the honor to represent Hungary at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. The dates for the six A Dal 2016-shows has also been announced.

A Dal 2016

  • 23 January: Heat 1
  • 30 January: Heat 2
  • 6 February: Heat 3
  • 13 February: Semi-final 1
  • 20 February: Semi-final 2
  • 27 February: Final

The jury of A Dal 2016 consists of Pierrot, Zséda, Károly Freinreisz and Miklós Both. Hosts of all the shows are again Csilla Tatár and Levente Harsányi.

Hungary in Eurovision Song Contest

Hungary has participated in Eurovision Song Contest 13 times since its debut in 1994. The Best result was in the debuting year 1994 where the song "Kinek Mondjam El Vétkeimet" went 4th. Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004 Hungary has qualified for the Grand Final 7 out of 9 times - The last 5 years Hungary did qualify for the Grand Final. Their worst result was in 2008 where Hungary went last in Semi-final 2.
