When was Eurovision 2016?

All three shows were broadcasted live from Stockholm starting at 21:00 CET. The dates were announced at the Head of Delegations meeting in March 2015, and confirmed by the broadcaster SVT on 8 July 2015.

Eurovision 2016 Globe Arena City View

Sveriges Television, SVT, announced on 8 July 2015 that Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be held in Stockholm. Stockholm has previously hosted Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 and 2000, and now again in 2016.

Globen Arena , also known as "Ericsson Globe" is the national indoor arena of Sweden, and is the largest hemispherical building in the world. It's capacity is 16,000 seated spectators for shows and concerts.

The stage is designed by Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström.

Hosts: Mede & Måns

Hosts 2016: Måns & Mede

Petra Mede and Måns Zelmerlöw will be the hosts of Eurovision Song Contest 2016. SVT revealed the hosts on 14 December 2015, and both Mede and Måns were the bookmaker's favorite to host the 61st Eurovision.

Petra Mede hosted Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, as well as the 60th anniversary show Eurovision Greatest Hits.

Måns Zelmerlöw has participated in Melodifestivalen three times. In 2007 he finished third with the song "Cara Mia", and in 2009 he went fourth with the song "Hope and Glory". And in 2015 he won both Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest.

Participants

EBU has announced that 43 countries will be competing in Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. After Romania was expelled from EBU the number of participants is now 42. The EBU Member Broadcasters, on behalf of their countries, had until mid-September 2015 to formally submit their applications to take part in Eurovision 2016. The final list of participating countries was released on 26 November 2015.

Who's in which Semi-final?

The semi-final allocation draw for Eurovision Song Contest 2016 took place on 25 January 2016 in the City Hall of Stockholm. The draw determined which countries are allocated to which of the two semi-finals.

Tickets

The first batch of tickets went on sale Thursday 26 November, and the second batch on Monday 29 February. Various batches will be released up until eurovisionweek. The prices varies from €11 to €280, and there is a limit on the amount of tickets you can buy for each show, to ensure that more people can get a ticket.

Fans who are member of one of the official Eurovision fan clubs have the possibility to buy a special fan package.

Eurovision Village is the official festival area in Stockholm during Eurovision Song Contest 2016. In Eurovision Village you can see live performances by artists, DJs, special events and public viewing of the shows broadcasted from the Arena. Open for everyone.

Euroclub & Euro Fan Café

Location: Skeppsbron (In front of the royal palace)

Euroclub and Euro Fan Café will be housed under the same roof in a temporary building on the quay next to the water in front of the royal palace in Stockholm, with a capacity of 4,500 persons. In the daytime it will be open to all, and during the evenings it will be transformed into Euroclub – a night club for accredited fans and delegations only.

Euro Fan Café is open for everyone where you can mingle with other Eurovision fans, have a drink, get a bite, join some of the events like quizzes, competitions, performances and meets and greets with some of the artists. Euro Fan Café will have three rooms: A large lounge room with a stage, a smaller room with another stage and an outdoor terrace.

Euroclub is the night club for accredited fans and delegations. It will be the venue for special parties, the official after parties and performances by some of the Eurovision participants. It will consists of 2 floors, with 3 stages, a karaoke bar, terrace, restaurant and a delegation floor.

How to get access to Euroclub for OGAE fans

Are you a member of OGAE? Then you had the chance to apply for an accreditation to the EuroClub.

SECOND REGISTRATION PERIOD - CLOSED
  • The second registration period was open from 13 April 9:00 CET to 15 April 18:00 CET
  • There were 235 extra accreditations for OGAE members

FIRST REGISTRATION PERIOD - CLOSED

GENERAL
  • Registration form online
  • If your application is approved, you will get an e-mail with more information about how the payment process works for your Euroclub pass for 500 SEK.
  • You will be notified around two weeks after the period has closed.
  • The payment will be made through an e-service.
  • Retrieval of the fan accreditation to EuroClub occurs in Stockholm, at the Globe Arena, next to the press center at Hovet. The accreditation center will open on 4 April.

A total of 2,550 fans have the opportunity to get an OGAE-accreditation for Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. In the first registration period, a total of 2,315 fans applied for OGAE-accreditations.

An OGAE-accreditation costs 500 SEK (≈ 53 €) and gives free access to both Euro Fan Café and EuroClub from 2 - 14 May, including the magnificent opening ceremony on 8 May and the closing ceremony immediately after the final.

You could only apply for an OGAE-accreditation if you are member of an OGAE fan club. Your application will be answered immediately after the registration period has ended.
