Sweden Melodifestivalen 2018: Rolandz and Mariette to the final. Update: Second chance duels announced

Tonight the fourth heat of Melodifestivalen 2018 took place in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Seven acts performed live, and two songs qualified directly to the final: Mariette with 'For You' and Rolandz with 'Fuldans'. The lineup for next Saturday's "second chance" is complete

Tonight the fourth and final deltävling (heat) took place in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2018. Seven songs were performed and the two winners qualified directly for the final: Mariette and Rolandz and two acts for the "second chance" on next Saturday: Felix Sandman and Olivia Eliasson.

The fourth deltävling was held in Fjällräven Center, Örnsköldsvik, which also hosted a deltävling of Melodifestivalen in 2010 and 2014.

Like the previous years the votes will not be unveiled before the Final of Melodifestivalen 10 March 2018.

Melodifestivalen 2018 – Second Chance Lineup

The Second Chance will consist of four duels, where the winner of each duel will qualify to the final.

Duel 1:

Duel 2:

  • Renaida – "All the Feels" (Deltävling 1, Karlstad)
  • Olivia Eliasson – "Never Learn" (Deltävling 4, Örnsköldsvik)

Duel 3:

  • Felix Sandman – "Every Single Day" (Deltävling 4, Örnsköldsvik)
  • Mimi Werner – "Songburning" (Deltävling 2, Gothenburg)

Duel 4:

The duels are not based on a random draw but are decided by SVT.

Melodifestivalen 2018

  • 3 February: Deltävling 1 (Karlstad)
  • 10 February: Deltävling 2 (Gothenburg)
  • 17 February: Deltävling 3 (Malmö)
  • 24 February: Deltävling 4 (Örnsköldsvik)
  • 3 March: Second Chance (Kristianstad)
  • 10 March: Final (Stockholm)

The format for Melodifestivalen 2018 is the same as last year: Each of the 4 heats qualified 2 songs directly to the final. Each of the 4 heats qualified 2 songs to the "second chance"-show. In the "second chance" 4 songs will be selected for the final.

Host of all the shows are David Lindgren.

They came last two times (1963 and 1977), and since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004 Sweden managed to qualify for the Grand Final 13 out of 14 times! (only skipped the qualification in 2010).
