Maltese Selection 1998:
Georgina - "The Morning Rain"

The Morning Rain

You showered hope into my life
Just like the morning rain
Sliding gently
Beating across my windowpane

You lifted up my spirits high
And made them fall again
I need you like a desert flower
Needs the morning rain

I may be wrong
But then again
What's right about not being there to hold you?
If only for a while
I may be wrong
But then again
Why should I keep on hoping that you'll swear
To stay, stay for the morning rain?

You left without a trace behind
Just like the morning rain
Never spoken
Explaining the cause, the guilt, the pain

You took me to the rainbow's end
But you did not remain
To watch the sunrise there beside me
And the morning rain

I may be wrong
But then again
What's right about not being there to hold you?
If only for a while
I may be wrong
But then again
Why should I keep on hoping that you'll swear
To stay, ѕtay for the morning rain?

Stay for the morning rain
Stay for the morning rаin
