Internal selection
In 1988, the Portuguese broadcaster RTP didn't held the traditional Festival da Canção.
Instead, RTP asked five renowned composers to present a song each. The sixth song was Dora with "Déjà vu", as she won the Prémio Nacional de Música (National Music Prize) held on 5 March 1988.
The selection of the winning song was done internally. The places of each song have not been unveiled.
