
Latvia: First five acts to Supernova 2026 Final
Tonight was the first of two Semi-finals for Latvia's Supernova 2026. 12 artists took the stage, with 5 advancing to the final on 14 February
Tonight was the first of three shows held for Latvia's Supernova 2026, their selection process for their Eurovision 2026 representative.
Supernova 2026 has 24 acts taking part, with the first 12 competing in tonight's Semi-final. Of the 12 who performed, 5 will be advancing to the Latvian Final on 14 February.
The 5 acts we will see again will be:
- Kautkaili – "Te un tagad"
- De Mantra – "Let Them"
- Emilija – "All We Ever Had"
- Tikasha Sakama – "#010126 Coda"
- Elpo – "Blakus"
Supernova 2026 – Semi-final 1
Tonight's show took place at Riga Film Studio hosted by Ketija Šēnberga, Lauris Reiniks and Māra Sleja.
Semi final 2 will be on 7 February, where the remaining 12 acts will compete for the last five spots in the final on 14 February.
Supernova 2026
Supernova 2026 is Latvia's national selection process to determine their Eurovision 2026 representative. Supernova 2026 will consist of three shows:
Semi-final 1: 31 January-- 12 acts performed, five advanced to the Final.- Semi-final 2: 7 February -- the last 12 acts perform, five more advance to the Final.
- Final: 14 February
10 acts will take the stage at the Final on 14 February. The winner will represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna this May.
Latvia in Eurovision
Latvia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000, and since then, the country has participated every year (25 times). Their best result was in 2002, when Latvia won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I Wanna" by Marie N.
In the last 16 contests, Latvia finished last in their Semi-finals five times, and has only managed to qualify for the Grand Final four times.
