Ukrainian Selection 2010

In December 2009, Ukrainian broadcaster NTU internally selected Vasyl Lazarovych as its performer for Eurovision 2010. His song was chosen through a national final held on 5 March 2010, in which five songs competed. The song "I Love You" was selected by a six-member jury and public televoting.

After objections to Lazarovych’s internal selection, NTU organised a new open national final, which was held on 20 March 2010. Twenty entries competed in the new selection, where "To Be Free", performed by Alyosha, was chosen after tying for first place based on the combined votes of a seven-member jury panel and the public televote. The tie was decided by the jury in Alyosha's favour.

Following plagiarism allegations and claims that "To Be Free" had been made publicly available in 2008, the song was replaced with "Sweet People", which was presented to the public on 25 March 2010.
