Estonia: First finalists for Eesti Laul 2022 selected
The first five finalists for Estonia's Eesti Laul 2022 have been chosen. The final five be selected later this week so one will be selected to represent Estonia at Eurovision 2022
During November 2021, Estonia kicked-off the process of selecting the next representative for Eurovision 2022 by holding four Quarter-finals with a total of 20 qualifiers to form two Semi-finals.
The first Semi-final was held tonight with 10 songs but only 5 made it through to the Final which is scheduled to be held on 12 February 2022. The first four qualifiers were determined by a combined jury and public voting, while the remaining qualifier came from a second round of public televoting.
Elysa and Merilin Mälk couldn't make it to the live show as both tested positive for COVID-19. Instead of performing, the music videos for their respective songs were shown.
This Semi-final took place at Saku Suurhall with two rounds of voting. The first round determined the first four qualifiers (50/50 jury/tele) and the second round a fifth qualifier (100% tele).
And once again, the bookmakers had the five qualifiers 100% correct.
