SAARA AALTO

London Pride 2019: Official song by Saara Aalto

Saara Aalto has announced that she will be performing at this year's Pride in London. Nonetheless, that's not everything. Finland's 2018 representative is also having her song "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" as this year's official song of the event

Saara Aalto has enough reasons to celebrate! Finland's 2018 representative has just shared the news that her song "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" is going to be the official Pride in London 2019 song.

The song is part of her most recent album - "Wild Wild Wonderland" - released last year and talks about overcoming obstacles, be true to who you are and just feel free. It was written by Aalto, David Sneddon and Tom Ad Fuller and there is also a music video to it. It shares, nonetheless and sonically, little in common with her Eurovision entry "Monsters".

According to the news the choice relied on the fact that "Dance Like Nobody's Watching" "encompasses the true meaning of Pride, encouraging everyone to live their lives as though nobody’s judging who you love."

Through Instagram, Saara shared the news and expressed how excited she was to be part of the event again: "I am so proud and honoured to represent my community with this song. I hope the message means as much to you as it does to me."

Despite coming from Finland, Saara Aalto has become a worldwide LGBTI icon after her participations in the English version of the X Factor and in the 2018 edition of Eurovision. On top of that she has came out as a lesbian not long ago.

Saara will be performing Pride In London's official song during the Gala Dinner on 6 July 2019.
