City: Where will Eurovision 2026 be held?
Austria has just won Eurovision 2025, and now a lot of planning starts for the Austrian broadcaster ORF together with possible cities that are interested in hosting this huge event.
Austria has hosted Eurovision twice before – both in the capital Vienna: The first time was in 1967, after Udo Jürgens - "Merci Chérie" won the year before. The second time was in 2015, after Conchita Wurst's "Rise Like a Phoenix".
The following cities have stated they are examining or will bid to host Eurovision 2026:
- Graz
- Innsbruck
- Linz
- Oberwart
- St. Pölten
- Vienna
Ebreichsdorf
The application process for host cities has started, and interested Austrian cities and municipalities can apply until 4 July 2025.
Interested cities and municipalities must meet the criteria set by the EBU, which include a fully equipped event hall with appropriate capacity and infrastructure, good international connections, sufficient accommodation in the region as well as organizational, security and sustainable implementation competence of the host city.
In the first application phase (expression of interest), the minimum requirement is that the venue is exclusively available for a period of at least eight weeks - seven weeks before the final and one week after - and that the audience's capacity in the arena comprises around 10,000 people.
Participants
13 countries have expressed their interest for participation in the contest, which is subject to change:
EBU Member Broadcasters, on behalf of their countries, have until mid-October 2025 to formally submit their applications to take part in Eurovision 2026.
