Back in November, Cypriot broadcaster CyBC announced that Antigoni will be representing Cyprus at Eurovision 2026. She was the first artist to be revealed for the 2026 season.

Cyprus 2026: Antigoni – "Jalla"

"Jalla" was written by Antigoni Buxton, Charalambous Kallona, Connor Mullally-Knight, Demetris Nikolaou, Klejdi Lupa, Paris Kalpos, and Trey Qua.

On 13 February, "Jalla" will be performed live for the first time during the second semi final of Greece's Sing For Greece 2026 national selection show.

Antigoni will take the Eurovision 2026 stage for Cyprus in Semi Final 2 on 14 May in Vienna and looks to bring the country back to the Grand Final this year.

Antigoni

Antigoni Buxton is a 29 year old British-Cypriot singer-songwriter from North London. She's the daughter of Greek-Cypriot television presenter and chef Tonia Buxton, and grew up surrounded by both British and Cypriot culture.

She began writing songs as a teenager and later studied at the BRIT School in London, which is known for producing artists such as Adele and Amy Winehouse. In her early twenties, she signed with Island Records and started developing her own sound — a mix of pop and R&B with Mediterranean influences and Greek instrumentation. Her music represents the sense of pride she has for her heritage and cultural roots, while incorporating her strong voice and evocative lyrics.

Antigoni has released several singles, most notably including “You Can Have Him,” “Never Gonna Love,” and “Hit List.” Her music often features bilingual lyrics and reflects her identity as both British and Cypriot.

Her audience would expand in 2022 when she appeared on the British reality show Love Island, increasing her visibility across the UK and Cyprus. Despite her TV exposure, she continues to focus on her music career.
