Cyprus: Six songs ready for the Final

Another evening of pleasure was aired tonight, where ten contestants were reduced to six finalists. The second round of Eurochallenge combined the songs with workshops where the contestants got a little training in singing (important skill!) and stage-performance. Eurochallenge ended with the jury's verdict of each song, resultet in six happy finalists to compete in the Cypriot final on 1 February.

Shortly after the show the telephone lines opened, and televoters can vote until the final.

The televotes are combined 50/50 with the jury, to determine which song will represent Cyprus in Vienna.

Duet and Rock

Still we believe in the dramatic pop ballad song " Dila den agapo" ("Δειλά δεν αγαπώ") performed by Nearchos Evangelou & Charis Savva. It has quality, and we're sure that it will go to the Grand Final of Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna – if this song will be picked as the Cypriot representative. In the draw for the running order for the Cypriot Final that will be held on 1 February 2015, Evangelou & Savva picked the most favorable position as the last song to perform in the final.

We also have our believes in the rock ballad song " Shine" by the rockgroup Minus One. It is a good melody and song, we only doubt a bit on the voice of Francois Micheletto, the lead singer.

Eurochallenge

Cyprus has six auditions and three shows to pick the winner that will represent Cyprus at Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. The first six auditions called "Eurovision Song Project" selects the 20 songs that will go through to the next step: "Eurochallenge". Here 10 songs will procede to the next round of Eurochallenge. The six best songs will proceed to the Final on 1 February 2015.

The jury

The jury consist of seven experts, including three former Cypriot Eurovision-artists: Elena Patroklou ( 1991) , Alex Panayi (1995 & 2000) and Despina Olympiou (2013). Tasos Trifonos, Christer Bjorkman, Dimitris Kontopoulos and Bruno Berberes.

Cyprus in Eurovison Song Contest

Since Cyprus debuted in Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, the country has not yet managed to win in any of the 31 times the country has participated. Since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, Cyprus has only qualified for four finals. Best location is three fifth places (1982, 1997, 2004), and the worst is last place in 1986.
