Hungary: A Dal 2018 artists revealed – Listen to the songs
The format of A Dal 2018 will be the same as previous years: A total of 30 songs will compete to represent Hungary in Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. See all the contestants listen to a snippet of the songs here
- The band The Matter has withdrawn – replaced by Patikadomb with "Jó szelet!"
- The band Nemzenekar has withdrawn – replaced by Viki Singh with "Butterfly House"
The national Hungarian broadcaster MTVA has revealed the 30 entries that will compete in A Dal 2018 and the honor to represent Hungary at Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon.

A Dal 2018
This year's A Dal will consist of six shows: Three heats, two semi-finals and one final. In each of the heats there are 10 entries, top-six qualifies to one of the two semi-finals.
- Heat 1: 20 January 2018 (10 entries 6 qualifiers to semi-finals)
- Heat 2: 27 January 2018 (10 entries 6 qualifiers to semi-finals)
- Heat 3: 3 February 2018 (10 entries 6 qualifiers to semi-finals)
- Semi-final 1: 10 February 2018 (9 semi-finalists 4 qualifiers to final)
- Semi-final 2: 17 February 2018 (9 semi-finalists 4 qualifiers to final)
- Final: 24 February 2018 (8 finalists 4 super-finalists 1 winner)
Hosts of all the shows are Freddie and Kriszta Rátonyi.
Voting
In every live show there will be a four-member jury that will rate each song, combined with public voting (SMS, App, Online).
- Every show will have two rounds of voting:
- First round: 50/50 combination of jury/public voting (except in the final)
- Second round: 100% Public voting
- Heats
- First round: 5 semi-finalists are determined by combination score from a jury and public voting (SMS, App, Online)
- Second round: The public can vote (SMS, App, Online) on the remaining five entries that were not among the qualifiers, to find the sixth semi-finalist
- Semi-finals
- First round: 3 finalists are determined by combination score from a jury and public voting (SMS, App, Online)
- Second round: The public can vote (SMS, App, Online) on the remaining six entries that were not among the qualifiers, to find the fourth finalist
- Final
- First round (jury): The four jurors each give 4, 6, 8 and 10 points to their top-4 entries. The 4 entries with most scores from the jury proceeded to the second round (super-final)
- Second round (public vote): The public selects (SMS, App, Online) the winner among the 4 super-finalists
The four jury members are: Judit Schell, Misi Mező, Károly Frenreisz, Miklós Both.
Hungary in Eurovision Song Contest
Hungary has participated in Eurovision Song Contest 15 times since its debut in 1994. The Best result was in the debuting year 1994 where the song "Kinek Mondjam El Vétkeimet" finished 4th.
Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004 Hungary has qualified for the Grand Final 9 out of 11 times - The last 7 years Hungary did qualify for the Grand Final. Their worst result was in 2008 where Hungary went last in Semi-final 2.
