Latvia: 20 artists to compete at Supernova 2025

The Latvian broadcaster has revealed the lineup for Supernova 2025, the country's national selection contest for Eurovision 2025

Grēta withdraws from Supernova

Grēta, who should have competed with the song "Monsters", has withdrawn from Supernova 2025 due to health issues.

Latvian broadcaster LTV has revealed the lineup for Supernova 2025. Supernova 2025 will select the Latvian artist and song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.

The announcement took place on the morning show Rīta Panorāmā on LTV1. A total of 96 songs were submitted for the contest. From these, 20 acts have now been selected by an expert jury to compete in next year's Supernova.

Some of the songs in Supernova 2025 have already been released. All of the songs will be released in full on 4 December. Until then, you can listen to snippets of all the songs in the competition here:

Supernova 2025 will have 2 shows:

  • 1 February 2025: Semi-final
  • 8 February 2025: Final

Latvia 2022: Citi Zēni - "Eat Your Salad"

Latvia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000, and since then, the country has participated every year (24 times). Their best result was in 2002, when Latvia won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I Wanna" by Marie N.

In the last 15 contests, Latvia finished last in their Semi-final five times, and has only managed to qualify for the Grand Final three times.
