Poland was set to be represented by Alicja Szemplińska at Eurovision Song Contest 2020 after winning Szansa na Sukces 2020 with the song "Empires". However Alicja didn't get the chance to stand on the Eurovision stage last year, after Eurovision 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
No news has emerged from Poland until today. The Polish broadcaster TVP has just revealed its plans for Eurovision Song Contest 2021: Rafał Brzozowski will represent Poland in Rotterdam with the song "The Ride". Rafał Brzozowski was chosen internally by the broadcaster.
"The Ride" is written by Swedish Grammi-nominated songwriters Joakim Övrenius, Thomas Karlsson, Clara Rubensson and Johan Mauritzson. The stage director for Rafał's performance at Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be Mikołaj Dobrowolski, who also was the artistic director of the music video.

Poland in Eurovision Song Contest
Poland has participated 22 times since 1994 where we saw Poland in Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. The debuting year 1994 was also the most succesfull. Here they finished 2nd, and is the best result for Poland so far. They have only finished in Top-10 in three out of the 22 participations. The worst result is from 2011, where they came last in their Semi-final.
Since the introductions of Semi-finals in 2004, Poland has qualified for the Grand Final 6 out of 14 times.
