Silia Kapsis to sing for Cyprus at Eurovision 2024
The Cypriot broadcaster has internally selected Silia Kapsis to sing for the country in Malmö in next year's Eurovision Song Contest. The song will be released at a later date
Rumors had it that Cyprus was going back to a national selection for their next year's Eurovision artist. Well, not this time around.
CyBC, the Cypriot broadcaster, has internally picked Silia Kapsis for the task. The news has just been confirmed through their social media channels, and brings the number of confirmed acts for Eurovision 2024 to two following Belgium's Mustii.
Silia's song for Eurovision will be released at a later stage. It is composed by the well-known Eurovision veteran Dimitris Kontopoulos (Δημήτρης Κοντόπουλος), who has several Eurovision hits on his CV, such as Scream (Russia 2019), You Are the Only One (Russia 2016) and Hold Me (Azerbaijan 2013).

Nickelodeon Australia has also booked her as a news anchor.
Cyprus in the Eurovison Song Contest
Since Cyprus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, the country has not yet managed to win in any of the 39 times the country has participated.
Cyprus came close to winning in 2018 when Eleni Foureira finished 2nd with Fuego, their best result so far.
Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Cyprus has qualified for 11 out of 18 Grand Finals.
