Slovenia: Klemen to Eurovision 2025 after winning EMA 2025

After the votes came in, it was clear: Klemen took home the EMA 2025 trophy and will represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel this May with the song "How Much Time Do We Have Left"

12 hopefuls took the EMA 2025 stage tonight to perform their songs.

After two rounds of voting it was deemed that Klemen would be crowned as the winner with the song "How Much Time Do We Have Left."

"How Much Time Do We Have Left" was written by Klemen Slakonja, Maja Slatinšek, and Ryan Small.

Klemen will perform "How Much Time Do We Have Left" in Semi-final 1 on 13 May in Basel.

Klemen Slakonja (3 June 1985) is a famous Slovenian actor, comedian and musician with a very notable career thus far.

Slakonja was born in Brežice, though his career started in Krško at local Radio Energy, which is the only Nuclear power plant in Slovenia.

2007 is when is career started to take off, with his first appearance on Radio Ga Ga, a satirical radio show in Slovenia. That was his first radio appearance, with his appearance at the satirical television show Hri-bar being his first for television.

Slakonja has hosted numerous shows including EMA, the national selection process used to select Slovenia's Eurovision entrant (four times: 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2020).

Alongside that he's released numerous parodies from songs to comedy skits that have brought laughs to many and helped him get where he is today.

EMA 2025

EMA 2025 (Evrovizijska Melodija) was Slovenia's national selection process to determine who will represent them at Eurovision this May in Basel.

EMA 2025 was held at RTV Slovenija Studio 1 in Ljubljana. Eurovision 2024 representative for Slovenia, Raiven, and Gregor Strasbergar hosted the show.

All 12 songs were performed live. The top two (Klemen and July Jones), decided 100% by a jury, advanced to the Superfinal. The two songs in the Superfinal underwent another round of voting, 100% determined by the public, to select the winner.

Slovenia made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, and since then has participated 29 times. They have never won the contest, and the best result for Slovenia is two 7th place finishes in 1995 and 2001.

Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Slovenia has only managed to qualify for the Grand Final 8 times out of 20.
