Vasil Garvanliev will represent North Macedonia with his song "You". Listen to it here
Back in January Macedonian broadcaster MRTannounced that Vasil Garvanliev would represent North Macedonia at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam. This decision had been made after an internal selection.
The last few days Vasil has been teasing his song You, telling his Instagram followers:
– YOU is an invitation for everyone to Connect, Open Up, Dance, and Celebrate the Moment. The title itself addresses another person, but also the person where it all begins - YOU, yourself, says Vasil.
– We’ve all been there. The moment when that unexplainable thing happens and sensations take over you. The choice is yours: let go, put your dancing shoes on, celebrate, and just dance.
Now Vasil's You has finally been released:
You is written by the two sisters Nevena and Kalina Neskoska as well as by Alice Schroeder. It is composed by Nevena Neskoska, Darko Dimitrov and Lazar Cvetkovski.

Vasil Garvanliev, 35, was born and raised in North Macedonia.
His career in the music industry started early: He has been performing since the age of 7.
He started as a child pop star in North Macedonia, continued as a soloist for the Children's Choir in Chiacago and went on to become a successful opera singer. Up until today he has been the leading baritone singer in over 50 opera productions.
After having lived in Milano, Toronto, Chicago and London he returned to his home country North Macedonia in 2018. Here he has been really successful: his first solo concert sold out and his singles "Gerdan" (Necklace), “Patuvam"(Travelling) and "Mojata Ulica" (My Street) enjoyed great popularity.
Vasil got his first taste of Eurovision as early as 2007, when he was one of the finalists in the Macedonian national selection with his song "Pomogni mi". However, Karolina won and represented North Macedonia with her song "Mojot svet".
In 2019 Vasil had his first appearance on the Eurovision stage as one of Tamara Todevska's (North Macedonia) backings.

North Macedonia in Eurovision Song Contest
North Macedonia first appeared in Eurovision Song Contest 1998, and has been participating 19 times.
Before 2019 the country was known as FYR Macedonia (Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia).
North Macedonia hasn't had the greatest results in Eurovision. The best result was in 2019, where Tamara Todevska won the jury voting, and finished 7th overall with the song "Proud". They never came last, but only managed to qualify for the Grand Final 6 times out of 16 since the introductions of semi-finals in 2004. The last 12 years they have only qualified for the Grand Final two times.
