San Marino: Senhit will go to Eurovision 2026 with "Superstar"

After 21 finalists took the San Marino Song Contest 2026 stage tonight, we now know who is waving the Sammarinese flag in Vienna this May: it's Senhit with "Superstar"

After returning to the Grand Final of Eurovision last year, San Marino is looking to extend the streak.

Like last year, San Marino opted for a televised selection route, which leads us to tonight: the Final of San Marino Song Contest 2026. Ten acts advanced from the Semi-finals and were joined by 10 pre-selected acts for the Final tonight.

Once all the votes were cast by the jury, it was official: it would be Senhit - without Boy George present, taking the crown with 'Superstar', and heading to Vienna this May.

Tommy Cash was found performing, and with how long the show ran tonight, the Espresso Macchiato was probably needed by some. He sang his Eurovision 2025 hit, alongside another single of his in a charasmatic performance.

Senhit will take the Eurovision stage during Semi-final 1 on 12 May.

Senhit

Senhit Zadik Zadik is a familiar name within the Eurovision world, as she is embarking to represent San Marino for the 4th time:

  • 2011: Stand By (as Senit) - did not qualify for final
  • 2020: Freaky! - (contest cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic)
  • 2021: Adrenalina (ft. Flo Rida) - 22nd in Grand Final

At 46 years old, she has made quite a name for herself in the music industry. Born in Bologna, Italy, Senhit comes from Eritrean parents, which led to her starting her career abroad.

Senhit has four albums and numerous singles to her name, which helped lead to her international career. Alongside music, she also has performed in musicals: Fame, The Lion King, and Hair in Switzerland and Germany.

Her Eurovision 2026 entry 'Superstar' features Boy George, who has made a major name for himself in the music industry the past few decades. He was the frontman for Culture Club, who produced hit singles such as 'Karma Chameleon' and 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me'.

San Marino Song Contest 2026

San Marino Song Contest 2026 was the selection route the country used to determine their Eurovision 2026 representative. Artists from any country were able to submit songs, which widened the entries seen for the selection. Ten acts however, were "Big Artists" pre-selected to automatically qualify to the final.

Voting to determine the winner was 100% jury decision. The final was shown live from the Teatro Nuovo in Dogana and hosted by Simona Ventura.

They have participated 15 times since their first Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, but not with great success. In 11 out of 15 appearances, they haven't managed to qualify for the Grand Final. Their worst results were in 2008, 2017 and 2023 when they came in last in their Semi-final.
