Israel 2019: Kobi Marimi's song "Home" released
The last song for Eurovision 2019 has just been released: The Israeli entry "Home" performed by Kobi Marimi
Last month Kobi Marimi won the Israeli national selection show "The Next Star", and now he has released his song Home for Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Kobi will compete on home soil with an emotional ballad that embraces his operatic voice in a subtle way.
The song Home was selected by Israeli broadcaster KAN out of 200 songs submitted to KAN's internal song selection committee.
Home is written by singer-songwritter Inbar Wizman ("Lukah") and the singer-songwritter Ohad Shargai, best known as the musical tv show A Star is Born finalist (2010 season), before the Israeli show evolved to what we know today as The Next Star.
Kobi Marimi
Kobi Marimi, 27, born and raised in Ramat Gan, Israel, now he lives in Tel Aviv. Kobi has studied acting at the Nissan Nativ Studio in Tel Aviv, and played in the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv. For his role in "Messiah Now" he won the Promising Actor Award at the 2017 Musical Celebrations.
Kobi began singing at the early age of 13. He started his journey in The Next Star with no professional music experience and gained public attention thanks to his unique style and operatic voice.
The judges of The Next Star described him as the "Israeli Freddie Mercury" because of his looks, uniqueness and the way he combines opera sounds when he sings. Like Netta, he suffered from low self-esteem, as a former overweight child.
