Austria 2024: Kaleen

Kaleen will represent Austria in Eurovision 2024

The Austrian broadcaster has officially announced that Kaleen will be representing the nation in Malmö at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024

The lineup for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is shaping up as we have yet another act confirmed for the contest. It's Kaleen.

As we've been getting used to with Austrian broadcaster ORF, an internal selection took place in order to select their candidate. According to local media, live auditions happened in front of a specialized jury panel built of music experts and Eurovision fans, and such culminated in the selection of Kaleen.

The news was announced on the morning radio show Ö3 Wecker.

Kaleen's song will be a techno-inspired pop song with the title "We Will Rave," and has not yet been released. It was written by an experienced Swedish producer trio which included Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt, who also co-wrote "Tattoo," Loreen's winning song at last year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Kaleen – "What It Feels Like" (not her Eurovision song)

Kaleen (29), whose real name is Marie-Sophie Kreissl, is a professional dancer and singer from Upper Austria.

Since her early years, Kaleen has been accumulating experience in the entertainment industry. In addition to winning five world championship titles and more than 100 national and European championship titles in a variety of sports, she also started her own record label, Wifi Records, in 2021, and put out her debut album, "Stripped Feelings," in 2023.

At Eurovision 2018, Kaleen stepped onto the big stage for the first time - on one hand as a double in rehearsals for various nations, and on the other hand as a dancer and choreographer for the interval act.

In 2021 and 2022 she took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as creative director, and in 2023 she supported not only Austria, but also Armenia, Germany, and Georgia in the stage implementation of their contributions in Liverpool.

Kaleen says:

– I think I haven’t fully grasped the fact yet, that I’ll be standing on that stage as an artist myself. I am in love with this world of lights and cameras and believe it’s a privilege to take the audience on a journey. I worked hard for this, and I am extremely proud. I am very looking forward to showing the world what I can do.
