Malta 2019: Alexandra Alden as one of the X Factor Malta judges

Alexandra Alden is officially announced as the third member of X Factor Malta judges. She is 24 years old, a singer, songwriter, guitarist and also a tutor. She studied in Rotterdam and has a Bachelor Degree in Music specialising in vocals and now living in Netherlands.

At the age of 16, she had her own EP called 'The Curious Child' and wrote five songs on her own. In June 2018, she released her album ‘Wild Honey’ which includes twelve original tracks on the international label MARS Worldwide. Soon she will be giving concerts abroad.

In a interview with TVM, Alden stated that X Factor Malta will serve as a platform for upcoming artists. It will be a good experience for all the participants. She was very honoured to be part of the jury panel and is willing to give advice to the participants.

Malta in Eurovision Song Contest

Malta debuted in Eurovision back in 1971 and has been in the contest 31 times since - without a victory. Best result is two runner-up's in 2002 (Ira Losco - "7th Wonder") and 2005 (Chiara - "Angel"). The worst result is three last places in 1971, 1972 and 2006.

Since the introduction of Semi-finals in 2004 Malta qualified for the Grand Final 8 out of 15 times.
