Tonight the final of MESC 2026 was held, and we now know who will follow Miriana Conte to represent the country on the Eurovision Stage.
The 12 acts who moved on from the Semi-final held earlier this week performed their songs tonight in hopes of taking home the crown. Once the votes were counted, the winner was decided, and it's Aidan with "Bella" who rose to the top.
"Bella" was written by Aidan Cassar, Joep Van Den Boom, and Sarah Bonnici.
MESC 2026 – Final
Tonight's show was hosted by Destiny Chukunyere, Gaia Cauchi and Keane Cutajar from the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Ta' Qali just as the semi final was.
It is not a national final without interval acts, and Malta made sure to bring out some great ones. Tonight we saw many Eurovision favorites including, but not limited to:
- Destiny: Je Me Casse (Malta 2021)
- Destiny: All of My Love (Malta 2020)
- Destiny & Eliza Borg: I Believe (Junior Eurovision Malta 2025)
- Baby Lasgana: Rim Tim Tagi Dim (Croatia 2024)
- Miriana Conte: Serving (Malta 2025)
Scream Daisy, an alternative rock band from Malta also took to the stage to perform as an interval act.
Aidan will take the Eurovision stage for Malta in Semi 2 on 14 May in Vienna and looks to follow Miriana Conte's footsteps in advancing to the Final.
Aidan
Aidan Cassar is a Maltese singer-songwriter, born in Żejtun, Malta on 17 December 1999.
First starting his journey to get to the Eurovision stage in 2018 with the song Dai Laga, Aidan has since made a name for himself in the Maltese music scene. His first Maltese song, ‘Naħseb Fik’ was entered to the Mużika Mużika song festival, with the music video winning music video of the year at Lovin Malta Social Media Awards in 2021.
Following that, he would return to the MESC stage in 2022 with Ritmu. Though he finished 2nd, the song would top the charts the following weeks, only growing his fanbase. 2023 sees him submit ‘Regina’ to MESC 2023, but it would get disqualified due to promotion of the song on his social media page, which was against PBS (Malta’s broadcaster) rules.
Aidan has had much success in his career, with over 10 songs charting at number 1, as well as an album and an EP to his name that both did very well.
MESC 2026

- Semi-final: 15 January 2026
- Final: 17 January 2026
Both shows were held in Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Ta' Qali and hosted by Destiny Chukunyere, Gaia Cauchi and Keane Cutajar.
