Blanka wins Poland’s Tu bije serce Europy – to Eurovision 2023 with "Solo"

Poland has decided: Blanka will represent the country at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Solo”

For a second year, Poland held a national selection in order to choose their Eurovision candidate.

Tu bije serce Europy 2023 featured 10 artists. And when all was said and done, Blanka was crowned as the winner with the song “Solo.”

Poland 2023: Blanka – "Solo"

Tu bije serce Europy 2023 was held in Studio Transcolor, Warsaw. The show was hosted by TV hosts Małgorzata Tomaszewska and Aleksander Sikora, and by actress Ida Nowakowska.

Kalush Orchestra (Ukraine 2022) were special guests on the show and got to perform "Stefania." In fact, Stefania (Greece 2021) was also a performer during the show, as well as Efendi (Azerbaijan 2021).

The outcome was equally decided between the televote and a professional jury that featured four people:

  • Edyta Górniak (Poland 1994)
  • Agustin Egurrola (choreographer)
  • Marek Sierocki (commentator of the Eurovision in Poland)
  • Marcin Kusy (President of the Polish Radio Program I)

Blanka

Blanka Stajkow is half-Polish, half-Bulgarian, and she knew that she wanted to connect her life with music from when she was a teenager. She loves to perform plenty of complicated choreography on the stage, but she can also be found standing behind the decks, being a skilled DJ, too.

Her song Solo is about a love which turned out to be something other than what it at first seemed.

Solo was composed by Bartłomiej Rzeczycki, Blanka Stajkow, Maciej Puchalski, Marcin Górecki, and Mikołaj Trybulec. Lyrics were written by Blanka Stajkow, Julia Sundberg, and Maria Broberg.
