Sanremo 2016:
E tu riderai, riderai, tu riderai di me
Un giorno ti dirò
Che ti volevo bene più di me
E tu riderai, riderai, tu riderai di me
E mi dirai che un padre
Non deve piangere mai
Non deve piangere mai
E mi dirai che un uomo
Deve sapere difendersi…
Piangendo tu
Mi ѕtringerаi
One day, you'll tell me
One day I'll tell you
That I gave up my own happiness for you
And you'll laugh, you'll laugh, you'll laugh at me
One day I'll tell you
That I loved you more than myself
And you'll laugh, laugh, you'll laugh at me
And you'll tell me that a father
Must never cry
Must never cry
And you'll tell me that a man
Must know how to defend himself…
One day I'll tell you
That I gave up her eyes for you
And you won't understand, and you'll ask me… "why"?
And you'll tell me that a father
Must never cry
Must never give up
You'll tell me that a man
Must know how to protect himself…
One day you'll tell me
That a man has left you and that you no longer know
How to breathe, how to go on living
I'll tell you that a man
Can make mistakes, you know
One can make mistakes, you know
But if it was true love
It was better to have lived it anyway
But you won't listen to me
I already know you won't understаnd me
And you won't believe me
As you cry
You'll hold me cloѕe
The group Stadio won Sanremo 2016, but declined the opportunity to represent Italy at Eurovision 2016: "We would love to participate, but we have a tour already planned. If we were young men we'd just be happy".
The Sanremo 2016 runner-up Francesca Michielin was instead chosen to represent Italy at Eurovision 2016.
