105 songs were submitted to TRT and 17 were shortlisted by a selection committee for the national final. However Şenay Yüzbaşıoğlu (Umut) withdrew as Şerif Yüzbaşıoğlu, his wife, was a member of the committee. Nilüfer Yumlu (Boşver) also withdrew from the selection due to plagiarism claims.

The first place had a tie-break. Semiha Yankı (Seninle Bir Dakika) and Cici Kızlar (Delisin) both finished with 28 points. A draw was made, which Semiha Yankı won, and went to Eurovision 1975 in Stockholm.
