Eurovision 2017: Here are the 43 countries
The 43 participants for Eurovision Song Contest 2017 have just been announced! Australia is back. Romania and Portugal returns
EBU has announced that as many as 43 countries will be competing in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, equaling the record set in both 2008 and 2011.
EBU Member Broadcasters, on behalf of their countries, had until mid-September 2016 to formally submit their applications to take part in Eurovision 2017. Broadcasters could withdraw their applications before 10 October 2016 without penalty.

Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, says:
– We are delighted that 43 national broadcasters have signed up for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest equalling our record highest participation. We have not had this many countries in one contest since 2011 in Düsseldorf. The Eurovision Song Contest still unites audiences like no other show, reaching over 200 million people in 2016. We're looking forward to three fantastic shows in Kyiv next May.
