Ukraine: Meet the contestants for Vidbir 2020

The 16 contestants that will compete for a chance of representing Ukraine at Eurovision 2020 have just been announced. This year's Vidbir will be built of two Semi-finals and a Final

Semi-final allocation and running order updated

Ukranine's broadcaster UA:PBC changed the rules in order to avoid another Eurovision drama and opened the submissions for this year's Vidbir – their national selection – by October 2019.

The songs were reviewed and the broadcaster made sure that no artist competing has performed in Russia or in the territory of Crimea since 2014. The acts fighting for a place at the Eurovision 2020 stage in Rotterdam have just been announced.

Vidbir 2020

Vidbir 2020 will have three shows to be hosted by Serhii Prytula:

  • 8 February 2020: Semi-final 1
  • 15 February 2020: Semi-final 2
  • 22 February 2020: Final

The jury has suffered a few changes for this year's edition. In the place of Eugene Filatov and Jamala, we have Ukraine's 2006 representative, Tina Karol, and Vitalii Drozdov:

  • Andriy Danylko (Verka Serduchka) – comedian, drag artist and singer, Ukraine 2007 (2nd)
  • Tina Karol – singer, actress and TV presenter, Ukraine 2006 (7th)
  • Vitalii Drozdov – Director-general of Hit FM radio.
