Eat Your Salad! Citi Zēni will represent Latvia at Eurovision 2022

Citi Zēni wins Latvia's Supernova 2022 with the song "Eat Your Salad" and therefore the honour of waving the Latvian flag at Eurovision 2022 in Turin

Another Baltic state has decided their fate for Eurovision 2022 tonight: Latvia will be represented by Citi Zēni and the song "Eat Your Salad" in Italy next May, just like the bookmakers predicted.

Supernova 2022 was the method chosen by the country to determine who should go to Eurovision this year.

Tonight's final show was supposed to feature ten songs. Nonetheless, due to technical issues during Miks Dukurs' performance during the broadcast of its Semi-final, LVT (the broadcaster) announced the singer would also be part of the lineup even though the singer wasn't physically at the show as he tested positive for COVID-19.

Supernova's Final was hosted by Ketija Šēnberga (TV host) and Lauris Reiniks (singer) and featured performances by former Eurovision stars The Roop (Lithuania 2021) and Uku Suviste (Estonia 2021).

Citi Zēni

Citi Zēni (roughly translates as "Other Boys") are a 6-piece musical act from Latvia and proclaim themselves as Princesses of rap & Divas of 21st century Pop sounds.

They first met back in March of 2020 for a songwriting camp outside of Riga, Latvia, and in just two years they managed to release a full LP, multiple singles and even were nominated for massive Latvian awards.

Their music style can be seen as a mixture of R&B, groove, jazz and even Neo-soul that end up being covered by satire, fun and originality. They describe themselves as a band who's not afraid of taking on different adventures but need to do it while being sexy and green.

The members of Citi Zēni are: Jānis Pētersons (vocals), Dagnis Roziņš (vocals, saxophone), Reinis Višķeris (keyboards), Krišjānis Ozols (guitar), Roberts Memmēns (bass) and Toms Kagainis (drums).
