Songs for Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 released
The eight songs for Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 have been released by Luxembourgish broadcaster. Listen to the songs and vote in our poll: Who should win Luxembourg Song Contest 2026?
Back in October, Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL revealed the eight artists competing in Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 back in October. A total of 58 artists submitted 83 songs.
All artists had to meet three criteria: either have Luxembourgish nationality, have been a resident in the country for at least three months, and have a connection to the Luxembourgish cultural and music scene.
Now, the songs have officially been released.
Luxembourg Song Contest 2026
Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 takes place on Saturday 24 January 2026 in Rockhal, Esch-sur-Alzette.
Collective writing is the common thread of the 2026 edition. All tracks resulted from multi-
author collaborations, sparked by international encounters both expected and unexpected.
Around the Luxembourgish artists – all co-authors of their songs – gravitate songwriters and
producers from across Europe, with a strong presence from Northern Europe, a region with a
rich Eurovision tradition.
As for languages, Luxembourg continues its polyglot tradition. Two songs are in French, the
others in English – with a few nods to other languages dear to the finalists: Portuguese,
French, and German.
6 Songs from the Rocklab Songwriting Camp
The result of synergies built over three years around Luxembourg’s Eurovision adventure: six
of the eight competing tracks were written at the ESC Songwriting Camp organised by
Rocklab in June. Part of Rockhal, this creative hub serves as an incubator and resource center
for Luxembourgish artists, musicians, and creatives.
During its second writing camp dedicated specifically to Eurovision, nearly 50 songwriters,
composers, producers, and performers gathered under a single constraint: each group of
three or four people had to write, record, and produce a complete song in one day. The next
day, groups were reshuffled for a new round of creations. In total, 28 songs were written
during four intense days of creativity at Belval.
Two additional tracks from other encounters complete the selection.
Luxembourg in Eurovision
Luxembourg has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 39 times and is one of the most successful countries in Eurovision with five victories:
- 1961: Jean-Claude Pascal - "Nous Les Amoureux"
- 1965: France Gall - "Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son"
- 1972: Vicky Leandros - "Après Toi"
- 1973: Anne-Marie David - "Tu Te Reconnaîtras"
- 1983: Corinne Hermès - "Si La Vie Est Cadeau"
Luxembourg had a 30-year long break from Eurovision in the years 1994 and 2023. They returned for the 2024 contest where they qualified from a Semi-final to the Grand Final for the first time.
