Armenia: One of these four will go to Eurovision 2017
The first Semi-final of Depi Evratesil had six contestants, but only four of them made it to the next stage
Armenian broadcaster AMPTV had it's first semi-final of this year's Depi Evratesil. The six contestants were narrowed down to four to continue to the next stage.
The winner of Depi Evratesil will represent Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The four in the run for Eurovision 2017 are:
- Marta
- Artsvik
- Egine
- Syuzanna Melqonyan
The decision was made by a 50/50 combination of jury/televoting. The jury consisted of:
Iveta Mukuchyan (2016), Hayko (2007), Anush Arshakyan (2009), Essai Altounian (2015), Inga Arshakyan (2009, 2015) and Aram MP3 (2015).
Depi Evratesil
This year, the Armenian broadcaster AMPTV has chose to select its representative for Eurovision through the show "Depi Evratesil" (To Eurovision). The format will select the artist for Eurovision, but not the song.
The final of Depi Evratesil will take place on 24 December 2016.
Armenia in Eurovision Song Contest
Armenia has been in Eurovision since 2006, participating 10 times (all the years except 2012), with very good results. Best results are two fourth positions (2008 and 2014). They have qualified for the Semi-final every year except 2011.
