She has a huge career in Netherlands, and now the Dutch Trijntje Oosterhuis is in Vienna representing Netherlands with the catchy song "Walk Along". You will definitely remember the lyrics: "Why? why-y-y, why-y-y-y?"

Back in 2014 the Dutch broadcaster revealed that Trijntje Oosterhuis will represent Netherlands in Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, with the song "Walk Along". The song is written by Anouk, the represantative for Netherlands in 2013.

Trijntje Oosterhuis

Judith Katrijntje "Trijntje" Oosterhuis (42) was born in 1973 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She has been on the music scene in Netherlands since 1990, where she formed the band "Total Touch" together with her brother. The year after, they participated in a contest for amateur musician "Grote Prijs van Nederland". The band released their first album in 1996, hitting with the summer hit "Touch Me There". Two years after, the second album was released, and it peaked the Dutch charts. In 2001 they decided to split and Trijntje wanted to have a solo career.

She has been performing with some great names: Andrea Bocelli, Herbie Hancock, Khaled, Lionel Richie and Burt Bacharach. She has won several awards in Netherlands, and is one of the judges in the Dutch "The Voice".

Since 2001 Trijntje has released 8 albums and several singles. Just last month she released her greatest hits "Collected".

In 2012 she started working together with the Dutch singer Anouk (Anouk Netherlands 2013). Anouk wrote and produced Trijntje's next album, and she is also the composer and writer of Trijntje's "Walk Along".

Sceptic about Eurovision - at first

Trijntje was a bit sceptic about the Eurovision-idea at first, but now she feels great to follow Anouk and The Common Linnets: »I feel greatly honored to have been asked to represent Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2015 in Vienna. After the good performances and results of Anouk and The Common Linnets the past two years, is obviously more exciting but also very nice ... I really really looking forward to it«

Walk Along

Walk Along is a very catchy song. You easily remember the chorus' "Why? why-y-y, why-y-y-y?" after you've heard it the first time – very important for an Eurovision song! The chorus is repeated again and again. And again.

Walk Along reached 7th on the Dutch Single Top 100 chart shortly after the song was released.

The song is written by singer-songwriter Anouk ( Netherlands 2013) and the Swedish songwriter Tobias Karlsson.
