Slovenia: Omar Naber wins EMA 2017

Omar Naber won Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA) and will represent Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "On My Way"

Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA) was held tonight, with special guests: Jamala, ManuElla and Toni Cetinski. But the main name tonight was Omar Naber who won EMA 2017 with the song "On My Way". Omar Naber will represent Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv again.

Omar Naber represented Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv with the song "Stop", and has also tried to represent Slovenia in 2009, 2011 and 2014 (and 2016 for Switzerland).

Semi-finals: Four songs from each of the two semi-finals qualified to the final. Two of the finalists were decided by a jury, and two were decided by televoting.

Final: The winner of EMA 2017 was decided by 50/50 juries/televoting. The juries in the final consisted of six regional juries.

EMA 2017 was the 21st edition of the contest.

Slovenia in Eurovision Song Contest

Slovenia 2015: Maraaya - "Here for You"

Slovenia had its debut in Eurovision Song Contest 1993, and since then participated 22 times in Eurovision. They have never won the contest, and the best result for Slovenia is two 7th places in 1995 and 2001. Since the introduction of Semi-finals in 2004, Slovenia only managed to qualify for the Grand Final 4 times out of 13.
