Croatia: Lineup for Dora 2023 announced

18 artists/groups have been selected to compete in Dora 2023, Croatia's national selection for next year's Eurovision

The Croatian broadcaster HRT has revealed the lineup for Dora 2023. Dora 2023 will select the Croatian artist and song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool.

A total of 196 songs were submitted, and the broadcaster formed a jury consisting of Željko Mesar, Zlatko Turkalj, Robert Urlić, Ema Gross, Igor Geržina, Željen Klašterka, Ivan Horvat, Tomislav Krizmanić and Dražen Miocić.

The selection jury has chosen 18 songs to compete in Dora 2023.

In addition to the 18 songs, the selection jury has selected four back-up participants, in the event that any of the 18 participants withdraw:

  • Lana Mandarić Lanchi – "Sama"
  • Mirna Škrgatić – "Odlazi"
  • Voice for you – "On the same train"
  • Rosanna Kumerle – "Talking to me"

The final of Dora 2023 takes place on Saturday, 11 February.

Croatia has participated in Eurovision Song Contest 27 times since their debut in 1993. The first victory for Croatia in Eurovision is yet to come. The best result is two 4th place finishes; in 1996 (Maja Blagdan - "Sveta Ljubav") and 1999 (Doris Dragovic - "Marija Magdalena").

Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Croatia has qualified for the Grand Final 7 out of 16 times. They withdrew from Eurovision 2014 and 2015 due to financial limitations and poor results in the contest.
