There is hope for Estonia: Stefan wins Eesti Laul 2022

Stefan will represent Estonia at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with the song "Hope"

Tonight Estonia chose their winning act in Saku Suurhall for the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin this May.

After four quarter finals, two semi-finals and a final, all 10 artists performed in the first round, and then a jury and public televoting (50/50) selected the best three entries to proceed to the Superfinal: Stefan, Minimal Wind ft. Elisabeth Tiffany and Elysa.

In the Superfinal it was entirely the public televoters who decided that Stefan should represent them at Eurovision 2022 with the song Hope. Stefan was also the clear favorite to win among the bookmakers – and YOU have also voted for him as the winner in our poll.

Each of the Quarter-finals featured 10 songs presented by music videos, where 5 qualified for the Semi-finals (3 selected by televoting, 2 selected by jury). The two Semi-finals had 10 songs performing live in each, and half of them proceeded to the Final, held on 12 February 2022.

Stefan

Stefan Airapetjan has competed in Eesti Laul three times, with the latest time this year as winner. In 2019 he finished third with the song "Without You" and in 2020 "By My Side" he reached the Final on a seventh place.

After his victory in Eesti Laul 2022, he is humble about representing Estonia at Eurovision 2022:

– I will do my best at Eurovision and I will try not to disappoint.

– I think there's a big and strong job ahead of us. Of course, we're trying to make things even better with the team.

– It's really incredible that it's becoming a reality right now, so fierce!

Stefan is truly happy for the support he got the last weeks:

– Everything seemed right and it was fierce to see that people were so supportive of me. That's great!
