It had been announced earlier that Spain was seleting internally and, even though, many thought former Eurovision stars such as Ruth Lorenzo or Pastora Soler could make a come back, they were wrong. Blas Cantó was announced today by the broadcaster's news show, Telediario De La 1. The song hasn't yet been announced.

The singer was in the studio for an interview where he made it clear it had been a dream of his participate in the world's biggest competition. He has also taken the time to make it official through his Instagram account where the singer, once again, expressed how excited he is for Eurovision:

The Spanish broadcaster RTVE explains the selection of Blas:

In 2011 he attempted to represent Spain at Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, together with the boy band AURYN and the song "Volver", but it was Lucía Pérez who won the Spanish ticket to Eurovision 2011 with Que Me Quiten Lo Bailao.
