Spain to celebrate Eurovision during May

The Spanish broadcaster RTVE has just announced its plans on spoiling the Eurovision fans during the month of May 2020 with special content related with the show

Spain is not having its own Eurovision 2020 show to determine a winner like Austria or Sweden are but is not forgetting the contest despite its cancellation.

The country's broadcaster – RTVE – has just announced that various programs related with the show will be broadcasted during the month of May, when Eurovision would take place.

To start, it had already been confirmed that Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light would be broadcasted by RTVE with Blas Cantó (Spain 2021) making a special appeareance but that's not all.

RTVE will broadcast every Eurovision show since 2009, starting with Moscow 2009's Grand Final.

Online, it will host the "El Eurobalcón" which will be a home concert featuring some of Spain's most recent Eurovision artists - Tony Aguilar, a Spanish DJ, will be in charge of the show's organisation that will last for 45 minutes.

RTVE will also be paying homage to Spain's first ever winner in Eurovision, Massiel (Spain 1968) with "Mi Vida En El Archivo" which will review the artist's career and life through its TV archives.

At last, but not least, through its online platform, "Españavisión" will remember Spain's run in the contest since its debut with Conchita Bautista (Spain 1961). It will end with Blas Cantó's "Universo" (Spain 2020).

Currently, RTVE is also hosting an online tournament to select Spain's best Eurovision entry.
