Ukraine: Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil to Eurovision 2024 with "Teresa & Maria"

Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil have won the Ukrainian Vidbir 2024 Final and will represent the country at Eurovision 2024 with "Teresa & Maria"

Ukraine has chosen their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. The Ukrainian national selection contest Vidbir 2024 was filmed on Friday due to safety issues.

Due to technical issues with the voting app, the public voting only finished today and not on Saturday evening as planned, delaying the result 22 hours. The rules of Vidbir allowed the jury vote to be the deciding result in case it was impossible to carry out the televoting, but one of the jurors, Jamala (Ukraine 2016), was against this:

– All three of us (jurors) insisted that the people should vote. I am very happy that the public has spoken, as this is the essence of Eurovision.

Among the 11 artists competing in Vidbir 2024, Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil were able to secure the win and will represent Ukraine with the song "Teresa & Maria." They came in second with the jury and won the public vote.
