Estonia: Five acts advance to the Final of Eesti Laul 2024

15 acts performed in tonight's Semi-final of Eesti Laul 2024. Five acts advanced to the Final, and will join the five pre-qualified acts taking part in the Final next month

Tonight was the Semi-final of Eesti Laul 2024, Estonia's selection process for who will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. With that, it has been narrowed down to 10 artists who have the chance to become Alika's successor.

Out of the 15 artists who took the stage tonight, five of them advanced to the Final. The five acts who qualified are Ewert and the Two Dragons, 5miinust & Puuluup, Ollie, Peter Põder, and Anet Vaikmaa.

The five artists listed above join the five pre-qualified artists who were selected to go straight to the Final after a round of pre-auditions in front of a jury.

Eesti Laul 2024

Eesti Laul 2024 consists of two shows:

  • 20 January 2024: Semi-final (Tartu)
  • 17 February 2024: Final (Tallinn)

Both shows are being hosted by Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld. 15 songs were performed in the Semi-final, and the top-5 qualified for the Final. In the Final, the five qualifiers from the Semi-final will be joined by five pre-qualified acts.

For the Final there will be two rounds of voting: Round one will be made up of a 50% jury vote and 50% televote to create the top, determining who moves onto round two in which the winner will be decided via 100% televote.

Estonia in Eurovision

Estonia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 28 times, first in 1994, competing every year except 1995.

Estonia has managed to qualify for the Grand Final 9 out of 19 times.

Estonia has won just once, in the year 2001, with the song "Everybody," performed by Tanel Padar and Dave Benton and 2XL.
