LPS wins EMA – will represent Slovenia at Eurovision 2022

Slovenia has decided that LPS will be flying their flag at Eurovision 2022 with the song "Disko" after winning Evrovizijska Melodija 2022

We have another song selected for Eurovision 2022.

Slovenia held their national selection Evrovizijska Melodija – or just EMA – tonight and decided that LPS should be the one representing the nation in Turin with the song "Disko".

The Final of EMA 2022 took place live from Ljubljana and was hosted by singer Bojan Cvjetićanin and TV host Melani Mekičar.

The decision was split between the televote and the jury each accounting for 50% of the result.

LPS or Last Pizza Slice is a Slovenian band who rose to fame mostly due to their participation in EMA Freš, Slovenia's pre-selection for upcoming artists.

The band was created in December 2018 and has five members: Filip Vidušin, Gašper Hlupič, Mark Semeja, Zala Velenšek and Žiga Žvižej.

Evrovizijka Melodija 2022 (EMA) was Slovenia's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

The show featured two semi-finals and a final:

The three shows were held in RTVSLO Studio 1, Ljubljana, and hosted by singer Bojan Cvjetićanin and TV host Melani Mekičar.

Prior to EMA 2022, the pre-qualification EMA Freš for upcoming artists was held from 29 November 2021 to 28 January 2022, where the best 4 qualified for EMA 2022.

Slovenia had its debut in Eurovision Song Contest 1993, and since then participated 26 times in Eurovision. They have never won the contest, and the best result for Slovenia is two 7th places in 1995 and 2001.

Since the introduction of Semi-finals in 2004, Slovenia only managed to qualify for the Grand Final 6 times out of 17.
