Malta: Lineup for MESC 2025 announced

The 24 artists competing at MESC 2025 have been revealed by the Maltese broadcaster. One of them will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025

The Maltese broadcaster has revealed the lineup for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 (MESC 2025).

24 acts have been selected to compete in MESC 2024 in February and one of them will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel:

Familiar faces return

Several of the artists competing in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 have taken part in the Maltese selection contests before. Three of them have even been on the Eurovision stage:

MESC 2025

Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will have three shows in just five days:

  • Semi-final 1: 4 February 2025
  • Semi-final 2: 6 February 2025
  • Final: 8 February 2025

12 songs will compete in each of the Semi-finals and the top eight from each will proceed to the Final on 8 February. Public voting combined with a jury will select both the finalists and the winner of MESC 2025.

Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest

Malta debuted in Eurovision back in 1971, and has participated in the contest 36 times since then – without any victories.

Malta 2021: Destiny - "Je Me Casse"

Their best results are two runners-up finishes in 2002 (Ira Losco - "7th Wonder") and 2005 (Chiara - "Angel"). They came last in 1971, 1972 and 2006 and in their Semi-finals in 2023 and 2024.

Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Malta has qualified for the Grand Final 10 out of 20 times.
