Lithuania: Lineup for Eurovizija.LT unveiled
The 40 artists competing at the first edition of Lithuania's new Eurovizija.LT have been revealed. The acts will be divided into five heats, and the winner declared on 17 February
Just a few weeks ago, Lithuania's broadcaster for Eurovision (LRT) announced changes to their national selection process for the contest and announced a brand-new televised show, "Eurovizija.LT."
Despite its new name, the format seems quite similar to the previous "Pabandom iš naujo." And to prove that point five shows are scheduled to take place, making it (once again) one of the longest national selections processes for Eurovision.
Three former Eurovision participants
17 of the 40 participants in Eurovizija.LT 2024 have competed in Lithuanian national selections for Eurovision in the past. Three of them are former Eurovision representatives:

Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest
Lithuania has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest 23 times since its debut in 1994.
In their debut year, 1994, Lithuania finished last. Their best result is from 2006, when LT United performed the iconic song "We Are The Winners (of Eurovision)." Although they didn't win, they finished 6th.
Since the introduction of the Semi-finals in 2004, Lithuania has been in Eurovision every year, and qualified for the Grand Final 12 out of 19 times.
With Estonia's victory in 2001 (Everybody) and Latvia's victory in 2002 (I Wanna), Lithuania is the only Baltic country that hasn't won the Eurovision Song Contest.
