38 countries will take part in Eurovision 2025

The 38 participating countries at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland have just been confirmed by the EBU

The European Broadcasting Union, the EBU, has just announced the 38 countries which will compete at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.

The EBU Member Broadcasters, on behalf of their countries, had until mid-October 2024 to formally submit their applications to take part in Eurovision 2025.

Six of the 38 countries are prequalified for the Grand Final to be held on 17 May 2025: The Big-5 (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom) and host (Switzerland). The remaining 32 countries will be competing in one of the two Semi-finals to be held on 13 May and 15 May 2025 (16 in each Semi-final). The Semi-final allocation draw will take place on 28 January 2025.

The number of participants is one more than 2024, when 37 countries participated.

Who's in which Semi-final?

Switzerland and the Big-5 countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) are pre-qualified for the Grand Final. The other countries will be allocated to one of two Semi-finals. The Semi-final draw will be made on 28 January 2025.
